Out of discussions with people over recent days regarding the great Pornhub Purge, I’ve been given some useful links which may give a glimpse of hope for the future. Here they are.
Backlash
This text is taken from the Blacklash website:
Did you know it is illegal to possess some types of pornography? Did you know that this includes adult pornography depicting acts between consenting adults? Since the 2008 Criminal Justice and Immigration Act, it is illegal to possess pornography that depicts;
• an act which threatens a person’s life,
• an act which results, or is likely to result, in serious injury to a person’s anus, breasts or genitals,
• an act which involves sexual interference with a human corpse, or
• a person performing an act of intercourse or oral sex with an animal (whether dead or alive).
This includes pretend acts and acts that are both legal and consensual to perform. Police have charged people over images of fisting, urethral sounding and (bizarrely) the wearing of gas-masks. No alternative sex act is entirely safe.
Backlash advises countless people and supports court cases that keep law-abiding sexual minorities out of prison.

Obscene porn rules relaxed in England and Wales
This article from the BBC News website describes how ‘Guidelines about what constitutes “obscene” pornography have been relaxed in England and Wales. The Crown Prosecution Service had previously listed torture and bondage, among other acts, as obscene. Distributing that type of pornography either on or offline could therefore have led to a prosecution. But the CPS has now removed the list and replaced it with series of “tests” that determine whether an image or video is classed as obscene.’
This is useful to know for those of us who have images/videos our ourselves in various forms of bondage published online.

7 Major Problems of Owning An Adult Website in 2020 (And How To Solve Them)
This article, specifically for escorts/sex workers, has some great advice for anyone wishing to set up their own website featuring ‘adult’ content.
It also lists some ‘adult content’ friendly web hosts which I’ll duplicate here:
- Sinsafer.com by Sin By Design
- Hostgator
- Hostinger
- TMDHosting
- ViceTemple
I can particularly recommend Hostgator because of their great set up deals and WordPress friendly nature.
